In an interview at Bloomberg's Berlin headquarters this week, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak weighed in on how the customer base regarded Apple a few years ago, and how it sees the Cupertino giant now.

Recalling the brilliant Get a Mac ads aired by the Cupertino company for several years straight, Wozniak said, “We used to have these ads, ‘I'm a Mac and I'm a PC,’ and the Mac was always the cool guy. And ouch, it's painful, because we kind of are losing that.”

Indeed, Apple not only isn’t churning out witty, funny ads as it did back then, but competitors are actually starting to catch up. Some of them are even ahead of Apple in some areas, something the late Steve Jobs would have probably prevented.

Asked about the iWatch rumors, Wozniak told the news agency, “Apple can keep engineers working so intently toward the right product, you don't have to rush something out ahead of time.”
