In what is an annual occurrence, the Wall Street Journal’s Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher invite the most distinguished minds in the digital world as speakers at D, an event that “brings together the people who are shaping the way we work, play, communicate and live.” This year’s edition will see Apple CEO Steve Jobs taking the stage on Tuesday night for an interview conducted by Swisher, the paper has confirmed.

The Journal’s Kara Swisher actually confirmed in April that Apple's chief executive would, indeed, attend the eighth annual All Things Digital conference, following a bunch of rumors saying the CEO would again take the stage for an interview. Held between June 1-3, attendees expect to witness some interesting revelations from Apple’s head. At the time, Softpedia noted that this prediction should prove more than accurate, if the past was any indication.

The WSJ has now hinted at the topics of discussion, which obviously include the new iPad, Apple’s tense relationship with Google, upcoming innovations, but also the mobile market and the iPhone. The paper acknowledges that, “Jobs is the supreme leader of Apple, which he co-founded in 1976. Apple is the most influential company in the consumer technology world with its iPhone, iPod, iTunes and now iPad, as well as its Mac computers.”

It adds that, “He also co-founded and was the CEO of Pixar Animation Studios, which has created some of the most successful animated films of all time. Pixar merged with Disney in 2006 and Jobs now serves on Disney’s board of directors.” According to the CEO’s description over at the WSJ’s speakers page, “Jobs is widely considered to be a model for creating innovation in the consumer tech space.” Other speakers include HTC CEO Peter Chou, and Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.

Jobs is also set to kick off his own company’s event, WWDC 2010, which is scheduled to begin on June 7, at San Francisco’s Moscone West. The five-day conference includes the first iPad development sessions, hands-on working labs for iPhone OS 4, and Mac OS X core technology labs.
