A couple of Steve Jobs stories are definitely worth sharing with our readers today, one of which says that Apple’s CEO is returning to the stage at The Wall Street Journal's annual D: All Things Digital conference in June. The Apple CEO was said to have “tentatively agreed” to participate, while later, his upcoming presence on stage was confirmed by the paper (WSJ) itself. Other sources report that the CEO offered up some advice to Nike’s Mark Parker, when he became CEO of the company, telling him to try to focus on the good stuff, instead of rolling out crap every now and then.

Jobs at All Things D

The Wall Street Journal’s Kara Swisher has confirmed that Apple's chief executive will, indeed, attend the eight annual All Things Digital conference. Set to be held between June 1-3, the show is believed to include interesting revelations from Apple’s CEO. If the past is any indication, this prediction should prove more than accurate.

Jobs on Nike’s ‘crappy stuff’

In other Steve Jobs news, the recently chatty Apple CEO has been the focus of a discussion between Nike President and CEO Mark Parker and Robert Safian, an editor for Fast company, at a media event (video embedded below). When Mark Parker first got the job of CEO at Nike, he allegedly got a call from Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. The two had a chat on their Nike + collaboration, which ended with Jobs telling Parker to “get rid of the crappy stuff.”

The context in which this came about was Parker asking Steve Jobs whether he had any further advice on their just-started partnership on the Nike + project. According to Parker, Apple’s CEO bluntly replied, “Get rid of the crappy stuff.” Mark then told Fast Company’s Robert Safian, “I expected a little laugh.” “But there was a pause and no laugh at the end,” he said.
