J. Crew CEO Mickey Drexler reveals in the video embedded below how Steve Jobs had envisioned an iCar, and that Apple has had “living room” plans for a long time now.

In the 40-second clip, Drexler can be heard stating, “Look at the car industry; it's a tragedy in America. Who is designing the cars? Steve's dream before he died was to design an iCar.”

The video was shot at Fast Company's recent Innovation Uncensored conference, where Drexler added that Steve Jobs’ iCar “would've been probably 50% of the market,” but that “He never did design it."

Drexler is also a member of the Mac maker’s board of directors. Weighing in on Apple and its newly-instated CEO, he said: “The best job to have: Take over a company that's doing poorly. Never take over a company that's doing great. You know, I love Tim Cook, but I wouldn't want his job!”
