Well this is sad. Steve Jobs’ superyacht has been impounded after French designer Philippe Starck failed to cash in on a multi-million Euro fee for his minimalistic work, according to his lawyer.

Commissioned by the late Steve Jobs himself, the vessel was baptized Venus and even reportedly launched from a port in The Netherlands, but apparently it didn’t reach high sea.

Starck reportedly received €6 million ($7.9 million), but was supposed to get paid a total €9 million ($118 million) for his work.

Reuters reports that the yacht is now impounded and will remain in a port in Amsterdam until the lawyers representing Jobs’ estate cough up an additional €3 million (almost $4 million).

“The project has been going since 2007 and there had been a lot of detailed talk between Jobs and Starck,” said Roelant Klaassen, a lawyer representing Starck’s company, Ubik.

“These guys trusted each other, so there wasn’t a very detailed contract,” he said.
