Apple's spokesmen have confirmed that Steve Jobs, Apple CEO, would not deliver the opening speech at the Apple Expo Paris 2005 event.

Besides this authentication, no other explanation was made available for the absence of Jobs. Apparently, he would be present after all, along with other company officials, because they have scheduled a section that requires his presence.

The Jobs speech was something a lot of people have been expecting, because it was thought that he would reveal something about the iPod's future.

Apple Expo 2005 is scheduled for September 20, but Apple has announced an event on September 7 that most people suspect to be the launch of the iTunes compatible phone.

This is the second time that Steve Jobs doesn't deliver this event's opening speech.

Last year, the official opening statement was assigned to Phil Schiller, Senior Vice President for Hardware Product Marketing, who exposed a new version of the iMac G5.
