Given up for adoption as small child, Steve Jobs later met his natural mother who revealed to him that his sister was the novelist Mona Simpson. The sister later revealed to Steve Jobs who his natural father was and, most importantly, that they had also met.

CBS interviewed Walter Isaacson, the author of Steve Jobs’ biography, who revealed to the world that Jobs bonded with Simpson, which allowed him to set out to find their father.

It was the sister who found him, a man named Abdulfattah “John” Jandali who managed a coffee shop. “I wish you could have seen me when I was running a bigger restaurant,” Jandali had said to Simpson who had not told Jandali who his son was.

Jandali was talking about a popular Mediterranean restaurant in Silicon Valley. “‘Everybody used to come there,’” Isaacson says Jandali told Simpson. “‘Even Steve Jobs used to eat there. Yeah, he was a great tipper.’”

Mr. Abdulfattah “John” Jandali, I am so sorry for your loss; although you never really had a relationship with your son and did not see the resemblance, how very alike you both were. May you forever live in peace knowing who your son really was. I found it very sad to know that the mother of this son of yours, never once shared with you that you had a son and would like to believe that if you had known you may have offered him sincere friendship. Instead the man was reserved, arrogant and particular about the people he associated with that Palo Alto image. My opinion after reading about the truth unfortunately changed my opinion of Steve Jobs the business man especially when I learned that he too did exactly what you did to him. Wow, that apple does not fall far from that tree now does it?
