Maybe it's time Apple doubled his pay...

"Apple Computer Inc. said Monday that Chief Executive Steven P. Jobs received a $1 salary and no other compensation for fiscal 2005, unchanged from fiscal 2004... according to a proxy statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission," MarketWatch reports.

The fact that Steve Jobs is employed by Apple for $1 a year has become a well known fact, however, as MarketWatch points out, the other executives, who had received no bonuses in the last three years, just got theirs, while Jobs didn't.

The past years have been good to Apple, and since Jobs came back, the company has turned around and is not going places nobody ever expected it to ever go. A good part of this success has been attributed to Steve Jobs, but it seems that Jobs is content with doing what he does best, challenging the rules and making new ones.

The nature of Jobs' salary does make one wonder though? How does he get paid, does he receive a paycheck every two weeks like everybody else? It would be interesting to see exactly how his taxes get deducted. And as for Apple, have they ever considered giving him a raise?
