Should return before the end of the month

According to the latest news around the Internet, Steve Jobs, who has been on medical leave from Apple since the beginning of the ongoing year, received a liver transplant in Tennessee two months ago, reports The Wall Street Journal. Although Apple hasn't commented on the news story, it seems that a company's representative did say that Apple's CEO was expected to return at the end of June, “and there's nothing further to say.”

Back in January, Jobs announced that he would leave its day-to-day duties for a six-month medical leave of absence, and was rumored at that time to be considering a liver transplant, though he refused to comment on his health status. According to the news, Jobs has relocated from California to Tennessee, as the list for patients seeking organs is shorter there.

It is already a common fact that Jobs should return to his position after the nearly six months of medical leave, and that it should happen before the end of June. As many of you might already know, in January he announced that he was stepping down temporarily from the chief executive post due to the recuperation from a hormone imbalance. Previous rumors pointed towards his return in time for the Worldwide Developers Conference earlier this month, when the new iPhone 3G S was announced, yet it seems that Apple enthusiasts weren't able to rejoice at that time.

Steve Jobs is 54, and his health status was subject to speculations since last year's Worldwide Developers Conference, which took place in June, given the fact that he appeared at that time as he had lost a lot of weight. Although Apple stated that Jobs' health was something private, the company unveiled in January that he suffered from a hormone imbalance and that his body was prevented from absorbing certain proteins. Tim Cook, Apple's chief operating officer, has been at the company's helm since Jobs left.
