The Syrian government has moved to ban Apple’s iPhone because of its use as a social platform to share images and videos documenting the violence unfolding in the country.

Obviously, protesters are fighting the effort and Abdulfattah 'John' Jandali is chiming in to show his solidarity with the Syrian Sit-in movement on YouTube. Jandali is the biological father of Steve Jobs, the visionary genius who co-founded Apple in the ‘70s with his friend, Steve Wozniak.

In the video, Jandali is heard saying “I am in solidarity with the Syrian people. I reject the brutality and killing that the Syrian authorities are committing against the unarmed Syrian people. And because silence is participation in this crime, I declare my participation in the Syrian Sit-in on YouTube.”

During his lifetime, Steve Jobs refused to acknowledge Jandali as his father despite efforts from the Syrian business man to build a relationship decades after giving him up for adoption.
