A picture of Steve Jobs leaving with his tail between his legs as he was denied a seat at a famous Italian restaurant has been posted online by a San Francisco publication. The Apple CEO and a companion tried to get a table at Flour + Water where publicist Liam Passmore spotted Jobs lining up with other customers before the restaurant opened on Saturday. The people immediately in front of Jobs got the last seats, according to Passmore.

Flour + Water (pronounced Flour and Water) is a San Francisco Italian restaurant that focuses on "seasonal ingredients sourced from the unparalleled and ever abundant California artisans and growers." According to the flourandwater.com web site, the restaurant’s menu changes daily and is intentionally small and focused, a description that (Apple fans will agree) fits Steve Jobs like a glove. The cuisine of Flour + Water has literally been done for hundreds of years in Italy, the restaurant’s managers say. “We are not re-inventing it but just trying to pay tribute to what we believe is the world’s purest style of cooking,” Flour + Water states.

Steve Jobs evidently did not have a reservation when he and his companion (SfWeekly doesn’t say who it was exactly) decided to hit up the restaurant and grab a bite. One thing is for sure though - being one of the wealthiest people alive does not grant you a spot at Flour + Water. Still, Passmore said the restaurant asked Steve Jobs to return. When he does, the restaurant will make sure he gets a table, according to the report in question.

Much like other high-class restaurants, Flour + Water has a reservation & walk-in policy which states “About half of our tables are available for reservation. Our communal table, seats at the bar, and half the dining room are saved for walk-ins. All guests are seated from a single wait list at the host stand. The largest party we can accomodate [sic] is six.”
