Publisher Simon & Shuster has revealed that Steve Jobs’ biography might be pushed to after November 21, and with an extra 208 pages at that.

Written by Walter Isaacson, author of bestselling biographies of Benjamin Franklin and Albert einstein, the book ‘Steve Jobs’ is based on more than forty interviews conducted over two years with the former Apple CEO.

More than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues were also interviewed by Isaacson so that he could write “a riveting story of the roller-coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing,” according to Simon & Schuster.

“At a time when America is seeking ways to sustain its innovative edge, and when societies around the world are trying to build digital-age economies, Jobs stands as the ultimate icon of inventiveness and applied imagination,” the publisher adds.

Previously estimated at 448 pages long (the old page count is still listed on Apple’s iBookstore) the book now has 656 pages, according to simonandschuster.com.

Also changed is the release date. According to the publisher, the biography is no longer pinned for a November 21, 2011 release, but for “around” November 21.

Although not confirmed by Simon & Schuster, the book is most likely getting bigger because of Jobs’ recent resignation as Apple CEO.

Isaacson had long begun his work on Jobs’ biography, whereas the iconic Apple chief only stepped down last month, leaving his seat to former Chief Operating Officer, Tim Cook.

For Apple device owners, this book will be available on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch with iBooks, and on their computer with iTunes.

A hardcover version can be pre-ordered right now on Amazon where it’s priced at $17.88. The digital version on the iBookstore costs $16.99 (also available for pre-order immediately).

Jobs was a wonderful, mysterious, amazing GENIUS. I always waited for his next product, as they felt like gifts. He will be so missed. But, he was kind of like Garbo, so mysterious and private. I am waiting to listen to the new bio by Isaacson, to learn about the man we adored, but only really knew through his creations. Isaacson did a great book on Einstein, so I have high hopes for this book. It is coming out October 24 on Amazon, iTunes and PremierAudiobooks.I want the audio version, so I can listen to it on my iPhpne. I hope that some how Apple has more creative, wonderful, insanely excellent people, that will continue Job's creative legacy.
