Walter Isaacson, the author of Steve Jobs’ first authorized (and yet unreleased) biography has decided to change the headline from ‘iSteve: The Book of Jobs,’ to ‘Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson.”

Needless to point out, the previous title didn’t sound all that well, but nobody really dared say so until Isaacson decided to swap it for the more elegant, and far simpler, ‘Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson’.

The author is the CEO of the Aspen Institute, and has been chairman of CNN and the managing editor of Time magazine.

His works include ‘Benjamin Franklin: An American Life,’ ‘Kissinger: A Biography.’ He co-authored ‘The Wise Men: Six Friends and the World They Made.’

Isaacson lives in Washington, D.C., with his wife and daughter who, according to Fortune, thought it was too “cutesy.”

The title ‘iSteve: The Book of Jobs’ was chosen by Simon & Schuster's publicity department.

Isaacson never fell for it, and neither did his family. According to Fortune, Isaacson has recently persuaded his publisher to go with the new Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson.

The book’s description on Apple’s very own iBookstore still bears the former headline. For those who are waiting to get their hands on it, pre-ordering is available on both Amazon.com and the iBookstore.

The official description goes:

From bestselling author Walter Isaacson comes the landmark biography of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. In iSteve: The Book of Jobs, Isaacson provides an extraordinary account of Jobs’ professional and personal life.

Drawn from three years of exclusive and unprecedented interviews Isaacson has conducted with Jobs as well as extensive interviews with Jobs’ family members, key colleagues from Apple and its competitors, iSteve is the definitive portrait of the greatest innovator of his generation.

Although it is specifically noted that the cover is yet to be unveiled, it currently looks like a pack of very familiar cigarettes.

Can you guess which one?
