A month and a half after its debut on Amazon, Walter Isaacson’s authorized biography of Steve Jobs has become the retailer's best-selling book of the year.

The online retailer is featuring Steve Jobs at the top of its best sellers list, followed by “Heaven is for Real: A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back” on the second place, and “StrengthsFinder 2.0” on the third.

The Steve Jobs bio authored Walter Isaacson goes for $17.87 as hardcover and $13.79 for the Kindle edition. The iPad version is slightly more expensive - $14.99.

On the iBookstore, there are over 9,000 four-star ratings and numerous positive reviews.

Apple has not disclosed how many copies of the book have sold through the iBookstore.

‘Steve Jobs’ is based on over forty interviews with the Apple co-founder conducted over two years. It also includes interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues.

According to publisher Simon & Schuster, “Walter Isaacson has written a riveting story of the roller-coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing.”

“Although Jobs cooperated with this book, he asked for no control over what was written nor even the right to read it before it was published. He put nothing off-limits. He encouraged the people he knew to speak honestly,” the publishers said.

A movie by Sony Pictures is in the works based on the biography by Walter Isaacson. Reports say the screenplay is likely to be handled by Aaron Sorkin, who also wrote the script for The Social Network.

According to gossip publications, George Clooney and Noah Wyle are battling it out for the role of Steve Jobs.
