If you think that you have already seen the last of the on-stage public shenanigans of Microsoft Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer, then you are sadly mistaken. And while I am sure that you are all but too familiar with the "developers, developers, developers" chant and dance, I have
included the video at the bottom of this article. It is the first embedded item, one that you have probably already come across. But the second one is nothing more and nothing less than Steve Ballmer reloaded.
Ballmer was present at Microsoft's MIX08 conference, in Las Vegas, and did an on-stage interview with Guy Kawasaki. Ballmer and Kawasaki touched a range of subjects ranging from Windows Vista and Apple, to Mac, the $44.6 billion Yahoo bid and Google. Out of all those moments, a particular reaction from Ballmer stands out. Just watch the second video embedded at the end of the article. Suffice it to say that Ballmer managed to add the "web" element to his "developers, developer, developers" chant. And this just as Kawasaki told him not to go all monkey boy, a nick name Ballmer has earned after the original "developers" performance.
And if you were feeling lately like it was time for a remake, then I'm sure that Ballmer's new performance will more than satisfy you. Microsoft's CEO took no time at all to get on his feet and enter monkey boy mode. "You mean he said no Monkey Boy and you want it," Ballmer asked, "you want some love right here, right now? You want me to stand up and do that on the Mix stage? ... I've been in PR mode all the time and you want to hear Web developers, Web developers, Web DEVELOPERS!!!" And he did, he sure did!
