Nothing is better than taking a good bath, except maybe taking a good bath and listening to some nice "underwater" music. There are a lot of audio devices that could take you where no bathing human has gone before. Well, MTI Whirlpool's Stereo H 20 took a different approach to the "where to put the bloody speakers" problem. They invented a revolutionary digital amplifier that could bring true euphony to your customized bathing experience.

Its "speakers" are actually high-performance acoustic transducers. This acoustic transducer system is applied to the bath shell's exterior surface near the waterline. This transforms the bath shell into a magnificent sounding board that distributes the sounds within the entire tub environment. The acoustic transducers generate full spectrum sound, but the bass frequencies will probably have no effect if you're a jacuzzi lover. The device uses the ultimate in digital amplifier technology, presenting the highest levels of digital signal processing. It's packaged into a compact size of 8.77" L x 8.33" W x 2.78" H, which makes the amplifier fit into almost any space.

The objective is to give bath takers both simple listening pleasure and therapy (and also make those yellow floating water ducks-toys shake their plastic heads). The amplifier can be hooked to an iPod, CD/DVD player or any other audio source. It can also be integrated with a zoned home audio system if you really want to take sound further than the bath barrier. The equipment can come as an extra option for most MTI tubs. I wonder if this device also comes with Lifetime Limited Warranty. Maybe, but an underwater amplifier doesn't sound immortal to me.

The Stereo H20 will be previewing at The International Builder's Show in Orlando and it will finally be unveiled at the Kitchen&Bath Industrial Show in May.
