At this year’s Golden Globe Awards, Christina Aguilera worked the red carpet in a fabulous strapless pink Versace gown that more than emphasized her enviably fit figure. Fans know that the singer has been training hard for her part in “Burlesque,” opposite Cher, but her trainer, Tee Sorge, says that this is not all she’s doing to look this good.

Speaking with InTouch Magazine and cited by FitSugar, Sorge reveals that, aside from all the dance rehearsals Aguilera had to go to in order to prepare for “Burlesque,” she also found the time to set and stick to a regular workout routine. This involves basic exercises that are meant to burn the calories and increase strength and resistance, the trainer says, as FitSugar informs.

“Treadmill warmup: Christina starts her strength training sessions with a 10-minute warmup on the treadmill. It’s a great way to get the blood pumping before lifting weights. Get your heart rate up with my treadmill workout for beginners or the more advanced. Backward lunge with bicep curls: Trainer Tee Sorge says bicep curls are a great way to work Christina’s upper body: ‘Christina does three sets of each exercise and uses weights ranging from five to 15 pounds.’ During your next workout, change up a basic bicep curl and do 10 sets of this backward lunge with bicep curls,” FitSugar writes, offering a means of integrating one of Christina’s exercises into our daily routine.

“Tricep dips: Another favorite way Tee strengthens Christina’s upper body is by having the star do tricep dips. Tee says that Christina is strength training two to five times a week because ‘she doesn’t lose her muscle mass or too much weight’ due to her long days rehearsing for Burlesque. Sit-ups: Christina’s favorite thing to do is work those abs. It’s no joke either – she’s doing 300 to 500 sit-ups a session! See if you can do 20 of these full sit-ups with bridge,” the same fitness e-zine further points out.

Of course, losing weight without changing diets is almost rarely possible, and Christina is certainly not an exception to this. Tee also reveals in the same interview that, in order to become this fit, the singer has banished all whites from her diet, which means no flours, rice or sugars. However, because all this without some fun would be almost too hard, Christina gets one cheat day per week, the trainer adds.
