When she wrote the first “Twilight” book, Stephenie Meyer probably didn’t even imagine she’d become one of the best-selling authors of modern times, let alone a successful film producer because she’d get her own company.

Today, she wants to distance herself from the universe of the (sparkly) undead, telling Variety that she doesn’t think of a future in which “Twilight” is part of her life again. On the contrary, actually.

“I get further away every day. I am so over it. For me, it’s not a happy place to be,” she says.

After producing “The Host,” which was also based on one of her novels, Meyer produced “Austenland,” a romantic comedy inspired by Victorian novels.

She says there was very little pressure when working on it so, naturally, she’s looking forward for more similar experiences.

Fans may still hold on to some hope of reading about the Cullens again because that door is “not completely” closed yet.

“What I would probably do is three paragraphs on my blog saying which of the characters died. I’m interested in spending time in other worlds, like Middle-Earth,” Meyer says.
