Sad news for fans of the long-running soap opera “The Young and the Restless”: actor Stephen Nichols has taped his final episode and is about to bow out of it, says an unconfirmed report.

We Love Soap Operas reports that Nichols’ departure is a done deal, even though it’s not official just yet.

“According to Soap Opera Uncensored, Stephen Nichols has taped his last episode as Tucker McCall on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. Will Nichols return to DAYS OF OUR LIVES and his signature role, Steve ‘Patch’ Johnson? Or to GENERAL HOSPITAL as Stefan Cassadine?” the e-zine says.

Nichols isn’t the only one who’s leaving either, the same source reports. Jessica Heap and Michael Graziadei are also getting ready to bid their extended Y&R family goodbye but only in his case the departure is official.
