Now here’s the best kind of endorsement you could ever hope to get before you have a new movie coming out: Guillermo Del Toro’s “Crimson Peak” is scheduled for release in October, but horror-writing duo Stephen King and son Joe Hill have already been privy to a screening.

And they have nothing but extraordinary things to say! If the rumor that Del Toro is leaving the horror genre behind are true, he is bound to go out with a huge bang thanks to this movie, which King describes on his Twitter as both “gorgeous and jus [expletive]-ing terrifying.”

When you have the guy who wrote “The Shining,” “Carrie” and “It,” and countless other horror classic novels say that, you know it means something.

The best part is that he’s not alone in saying these things: his son, Hill, who is an esteemed horror writer himself, was also at the screening, and he agrees with his father. “Crimson Peak” will be Del Toro’s crowning (horror) jewel, a work of art that will sit with the classics, so all the hype around it is completely justified.

Embedded below is the official trailer: the film stars Mia Wasikowska, Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain and Charlie Hunnam, and has Del Toro on writing duties as well, with Matthew Robbins.

“In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds… and remembers,” the official synopsis says.

“Crimson Peak” will be out in IMAX in October 2015.
