Stephen Collins, best known to fans as the reverend and dad on “7th Heaven,” is now in the middle of a police investigation after a tape emerged online with his confession of having molested 3 minors. As his attorney is telling the press that the leak was nothing short of a blackmail attempt, his wife’s statements serve to paint a very chilling picture of the star who, until not long ago, was universally loved and respected.

Entertainment Tonight obtained a document filed by Faye Grant as part of the divorce proceedings, in which she goes into the details of their split and how she did her part to turn Collins in, but also to get him to seek professional help for his problem.

The most chilling part about the document is her belief that there were more than 3 victims, to which you can hear Collins own up in the confession below. *Please note that discretion is recommended before pressing play on the video, as its content is disturbing.

Discovery of Collins’ secret life led to the divorce

In the document, Grant claims that she separated and shortly thereafter filed for divorce from Collins in January 2012, after finding out about his secret life: his “predilection towards children.” She refers to him as a “pedophile” who refuses to seek professional help, and writes that she did her part when she found out about his many victims.

She also says that the audio that leaked yesterday had been in the possession of the NYPD since the day she made it. The police never pressed charges because none of the victims had stepped forward; right now, they are conducting another investigation to see if they had “missed anything” the first time around.

“I believe that Stephen used his celebrity status to engender the trust of the families of the children he molested. I further believe that there have been other victims, but he has thus far only confessed to those three girls,” Grant writes.

“The two victims in New York were apparently molested over the course of several years, from the ages of 10-14 years old. My understanding is that all three of these victims are now over the age of 26,” she continues.

It seems that she found out about the incidents from Collins’ past when the husband of one of the victims contacted her to “berate” her that she was covering up for her pedophile husband. She confronted him with it, got the confirmation, went to the police, and then filed for divorce.

Collins never showed any signs but he’s a deeply troubled individual

“Again, I had no knowledge of Stephen's secret life until January 2012. I never witnessed anything first-hand that would have given me any indication of what Stephen was doing. After Stephen admitted to molesting the three young girls, I reported his acts to the police in both Los Angeles County and New York City,” Grant says.

At the same time, she tried to get him to seek professional help, but he would only consent to seeing a therapist. From what she’s saying, she is convinced that Collins is a profoundly deranged individual who should be institutionalized. She also believes that his line of work makes it easy for him to get in touch with fresh victims.

“Stephen’s therapist subsequently disclosed to me that Stephen has narcissistic personality disorder with sociopathic tendencies. […] He has refused to seek proper help or hospitalization for his predilection towards children. He has insisted that my concerns are unfounded,” Grant writes.

In a statement to the same media outlet, Grant’s attorney makes sure to stress she played no part in the leak of the compromising tape, having already done her part by turning it over to the authorities. Meanwhile, Collins’ lawyer claims that she sold it to the media, after holding on to it for all this time and using it as leverage in a multi-million blackmail attempt.
