Once-popular star of ABC’s series “7th Heaven” Stephen Collins is now being investigated by the police after an audio emerged in which he admitted to molesting 3 minor girls, during a therapy session with his estranged wife Faye Grant. A new report suggests that the story could have come out 2 years ago.

However, Collins had his attorneys successfully block it from coming out in print, by threatening a multi-million dollar lawsuit, Radar Online reports.

This way, he managed to keep his secret life a secret some more and continue presenting himself as a respectable member of the community.

Collins’ undoing started with his attempt to divorce Grant

It was Collins who asked for a divorce from Grant after almost 3 decades as husband and wife, the new report reveals. She was blindsided by his decision and furious, so furious that she sent out an email to a friend, accusing him of inappropriate conduct with a minor.

That email ended up in the hands of someone from The National Enquirer, and they decided to publish it in full and expose Collins for the pedophile that he was – or, better yet, that his wife said he was.

As is customary in such situations, the Enquirer fired off another email to the actor, seeking comment. Instead of that, they got in reply a cease and desist order: Collins had hired very powerful attorneys to muzzle the tabloid by threatening a huge lawsuit. As a result, the story was dropped.

In light of Collins’ admission on tape (which was recorded at around the same time the email was sent), the Enquirer is publishing the contents of the latter.

You can hear the leaked audio recording in the video below, *but please note that discretion is recommended because its contents are very disturbing.

The girl’s name in the email has been redacted, but she is one of the three girls Collins admits to molesting in the audio.

Grant could have come clean earlier

That’s the conclusion one inevitably reaches when reading Grant’s email: she knew what her husband had done all along, and only stepped forward with the truth when it suited her, i.e. when it was convenient for her in the divorce proceedings.      “Stephen had already molested —-,” she wrote. “He successfully convinced —- that she made the sexual molestation up. Stephen made her think she was crazy, and lied to —- throughout her life when she confronted him about her abuse. Stephen lied to —- and me in family therapy when she was in several rehabs, insisting that she was making it up.”

“This year, Stephen confessed to having led a secret life for the 27 years we have been together. I live every day with agonizing guilt that I did not protect —-,” she continued.

Grant told the media after the leak of the incriminating audio that she turned it in right after she made it, but that she didn’t sell it or leak it to the press. She also tried to distance herself from the scandal, saying she severed all ties with Collins when she found out what he’d done, though that doesn’t explain why they were in therapy together.

As we speak, Collins is being investigated by the NYPD and the LA police department, but they’re yet to make a statement because they’re waiting for the alleged victims to come forward. The police too sat on this piece of evidence for 2 whole years.
