Stephen Baldwin is perhaps one of the few celebrities to speak out in defense of Angus T. Jones, the star of “Two and a Half Men” recently making headlines for speaking against the show on religious grounds. Hollywood and religion simply don’t match, Baldwin says.

He’s the living proof of that, he says in a recent interview with Good Morning America, as the video below will confirm (see the second half of the clip for that).

Much like Jones, he too became the victim of a backlash when he spoke out on his religious beliefs. It nearly cost him his movie career.

“I’m getting ready to direct two or three movies next year that are faith-based films. I’m kind of full-blown faith-based right now and that’s just where I’m at in my walk of Christianity,” Baldwin says.

“But isn’t it weird, that as a Christian, I had a casting director come up to me two years ago and say, ‘I’m really sorry because I’ve brought your name up in castings for a while now and they all just look at me like I’m crazy,” he adds.

From his own experience, Hollywood doesn’t stand an outspoken Christian actor, to the point where the entire industry would willingly isolate him or her until he or she would fall off the radar and slip into obscurity.
