The “Step Up” franchise is the gift that keeps on giving: despite being trashed by critics, each installment proves such a hit with fans that a sequel is immediately ordered. The latest, called “Step Up All In,” will come out in July and has just gotten a brand new trailer.

You will find it embedded above but my advice, if you want to get a better feel of what the movie will be like, is to imagine it in 3D. Summit plans to release it both in the traditional format and in 3D but, from my personal experience with the last two installments, you’d miss out on an amazing experience if you saw it in 2D.

Yes, “Step Up” is a silly movie franchise that, with each new sequel, usually tells an unlikely love story of a boy and a girl who meet, fall for each other, and eventually defy the odds to be a couple. Yes, it has very bad acting and even worse dialog but what makes it so special is the amazing dance routines and, just as important, the outstanding 3D.

Hopefully, “All In” will not disappoint on either account. This time, the action moves to Las Vegas, where dancers from previous installments will be meeting in the ultimate battle to find the best dance crew. I spotted Moose and Robot Guy in the trailer, but more familiar faces will also be making appearances.

“Step Up All In” is out on July 25 in the US and August 1 in the UK. As a fun fact, it was the first film in the franchise that launched the career of Channing Tatum and his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum.
