SteelSeries Simraceway Steering Wheel Packs Everything But the Kitchen Sink

SteelSeries has surprised us all time and time again with its high-end computer accessories and the recently unveiled Simraceway SRW-S1 is no different as it comes with all the features one could ever need in a gaming steering wheel.

The SRW-S1 was developed in collaboration with Ignite Game Technologies, the creators of the auto racing platform Simraceway.

According to Ignite, the SRW-S1 came as a necessity as users required a way in which to control the game without having to carry around with them a traditional wheel-and-pedal set.

As a result, the SRW-S1 includes a motion-sensor for steering and a patent-pending throttle and brake paddle system, effectively enabling users to control the car without the need for a set of pedals.

In addition to this rather unique feature, the Simraceway steering wheel also comes equipped with no less than 20 on-wheel buttons and dials, which were apparently optimized for easy access.

“We’ve been working with the Ignite team and their professional drivers for the past year to really perfect the wheel’s design and functionality,” said SteelSeries CEO, Bruce Hawver.

“We’re confident in the success of this peripheral; we’ve combined feedback about its design from its rubberized grips to shift lighting along with the features that are found in true racing wheels, that Indy 500, F1 and simulated racing drivers need and use.

“The wheel’s original functionalities, price and its compatibility with virtually every PC racing game on the market, makes it a truly unparalleled product,” concluded the company's rep.

The Simraceway SRW-S1 steering wheel is available right now online in the SteelSeries Web Shop and carries a recommended price tag of $119.99 or €119.99, depending on which side of the pond you happen to live.

In addition to Ignite's Simraceway, the SRW-S1 can also be used with other racing games although some features, including the Assists dials and the shift indicator LEDs, may not be compatible with certain titles.
