Once upon a time, a partnership between Kingston and SteelSeries would not have happened, as the two companies had different business outlets: memory/storage and peripherals, respectively.

Recently, though, Kingston has been expanding its product portfolio and customer base into the peripheral industry as well.

That is why it, or rather Kingston Technology Europe Ltd., an affiliate of Kingston Technology Company Inc., has a partnership with SteelSeries.

Most recently, this partnership resulted in the SteelSeries Siberia v2 – Kingston HyperX Edition headset, which was shown at DreamHack Summer 2013, via Komplett and Webhallen.

"Our partnership with SteelSeries has thrived through various joint gaming events and gaming team sponsorships, as well as sales and marketing promotions through which we've been able to experience the great quality of their products," said Krystian Jaroszynski, European product marketing manager, HyperX and server, Kingston.

"Gamers from our sponsored professional gaming teams like NaVi, Incredible Miracle and SK Gaming all praise the Siberia v2 qualities. Kingston is proud to have a HyperX edition of this award winning headset."

The headphones have 50mm drivers, an impedance of 32 Ohms, a cable with a length of 3 meters (10 feet), and a frequency of 18 - 28,000 Hz.

Meanwhile, the uni-directional microphone has a -38dB sensitivity and a frequency of 50 – 16,000 Hz.

All in all, the SteelSeries Siberia v2 Kingston HyperX Edition has all it needs in order to immerse wearers in whatever game they are playing, “from immersive, atmospheric background music to precise 3D positional sounds of footsteps, gunfire and more.”

"We've been working with the Kingston team in parallel for a number of years now from creative marketing opportunities to the sponsorship of many professional players and international teams on the competitive gaming circuit," said Bruce Hawver, CEO of SteelSeries.

"We're excited to bring our Siberia v2 to Kingston's audience of gamers and system builders."
