Using games as a leverage to enhance the appeal of other products is often done, and the game known as Medal of Honor, from Electronic Arts, has now received a sort of homage in the form of several specially-designed peripherals from SteelSeries.
Over the years, popular games often found themselves turning into the theme of a great many hardware products, particularly peripherals.
This, of course, goes beyond just some video card makers' decisions to bundle a product or two with a trial or a full version of a certain game.
One of the more recent game-themed hardware collection, in this case peripherals, was developed by SteelSeries based on Medal of Honor.
The company's recent
announcement mentioned customized version of the QcK mouse pad, the Spectrum 5xb and 5Hv2 headsets, the Xai mouse and the Shift and 6Gv2 gaming keyboards.
“We’re pleased to be working with EA on the first generation release of these SteelSeries licensed products. It is through our experience and collaboration with professional gaming teams, that we understand and create peripherals that offer unparalleled levels of precision and accuracy for FPS gamers,” said Bruce Hawver, SteelSeries CEO.
“Medal of Honor players will have the opportunity to experience the game armed with equipment that’s able to meet the standards of becoming and winning as an elite Tier 1 Operator,” he went on to saying.
The 5Hv2 and Spectrum 5xb Medal of Honor Edition headsets will make their debut in the first quarter of 2011.
The Xai Medal of Honor Edition mouse has a 128 x 32 pixels LCD screen, seven programmable buttons and, along with the QcK Warrior Edition gaming pad, are already available for $89.99 / €79.99 and $14.99 / €14.99, respectively.
Furthermore, the Shift Medal of Honor Edition Bundle has also begun selling for $99.99 / €99.99 and is made up of the Shift keyboard and the MoH Keyset, the latter available standalone, at $24.99 / €24.99.
Finally, the 6Gv2 Medal of Honor Edition keyboard sells for $99.99 / €79.99 and boasts a built-in buffer system (for anti-ghosting), plus 18K-Gold plated mechanical switches.
