Valve is making great strides with its Steam for Linux client and is including more and more people into the beta testing.

Steam for Linux is one of the most important events in the recent Linux history. The platform is finally recognized as an entertainment venue and that's worth investing in.

Valve has announced that it's expending the beta program with an additional 5000 users, which will receive the great news via email.

“We're making good progress finding and fixing issues that our users have reported so we're expanding the beta by 5000 before the long holiday (US) weekend kicks in. New limited beta testers will have an email notification in their inbox” stated Valve's announcement on the official Linux hub.

At this rate, Steam for Linux will probably become available for everyone by the end of the year.
