Steam iOS Adds iPhone 5 Support and Chat Improvements

Valve’s free Steam app for iOS is now iPhone 5-ready and offers full access to the gaming platform to all account holders, according to the developer of Half-Life.

The Steam Mobile app for iPhone and iPad lets you participate in the Steam community, chat with friends, browse community groups and user profiles, read the news, and stay up to date on sales and special offers.

In its latest iteration – Steam Mobile 1.1.0 – the software offers unrestricted access to the platform to all Steam account holders, native support for iPhone 5, and a more stable Chat client in unreliable network conditions.

Some issues with global menu rendering – “notably the inability to select “Settings” after device rotation” – have been addressed, and the app’s general stability has been improved as well.

Lastly, the Steam mobile client for iOS devices is now localized in no less than 25 languages.
