Valve has launched a new beta version for its Steam for Linux client, bringing a lot of interesting new features.
After a development version garners sufficient changes, Valve promotes it to stable. The work for the next beta starts almost immediately.
Just a day after the introduction of a much awaited feature, namely support for 64-bit gaming on the Linux platform, a new beta has been launched.
Highlights of the latest Steam for Linux beta update:
• A regression that caused a crash during the launch of many Steamworks games has been corrected; • Support has been added in the Big Picture mode for Brazilian payment methods; • A regression that caused the progress bars on movies to expand from the center, rather than the left edge, has been fixed.
A complete list of changes brought by this release can be found in the official announcement.
