Game developers must submit the titles they want to put on sale until June 13

The Steam Summer Sale of 2014 starts in late June, according to a leaked forum post from Valve's internal discussion board for game developers, which says that submissions from game makers for the sale must be sent to the studio before June 13.

Valve has been launching quite a few different new features for Steam in recent times, like the new In-Home Streaming, but this doesn't meant that it's neglecting the huge variety of sales that have made the digital distribution service so popular.

The next major event is the Steam Summer Sale of 2014, and now the first actual details and a loose start period have appeared online.

More specifically, according to a screenshot of the official Valve Steam developer forums found on Reddit, all game makers must submit a list of the titles they want to go on sale no later than June 13.

The things discussed are technicalities about the sale, as game developers need to submit a list of the titles they've made and what discounts they want to pin on them. What's more, while a period of two months between discounts is required by Valve, you can expect games that go on sale temporarily in June to still appear in the actual summer sale.

Unfortunately for those who want exact dates, this leak doesn't include any mention of the start and stop dates for the new sale.

Even so, you can bet that Valve, after getting all the data from game developers, will kick off the actual Steam Summer Sale of 2014 a week or two after that, so it's possible that the promotion will begin on the following Thursdays, like June 19 or June 26.

What's more, considering The International 4 Dota 2 event kicks off on July 18, you can be sure that Valve wants to finish the sale well before the start of its special competition, so that it can divert all attention to that contest.

Factoring in the two-week period of the usual sales, it's possible that the Steam Summer Sale of 2014 will take place between June 19 and July 3, June 26 and July 10, or at the latest, on July 3 and July 17.

Bear in mind, however, that this is just speculation. Expect to hear some more rumors and reports about the next Steam summer sale in the following weeks, as it happens before such big events.
