Steam does it again! After grabbing the
Call of Duty series, RoboBlitz and Psychonauts, Steam digital distribution service will feature another game, or better yet, 4 more games.
Sid Meier's Civilization IV, Sid Meier's Civilization III, Shattered Union and Sid Meier's Pirates will be available via the Steam starting later this
week. This will happen as a result of a contract signed between 2K and Valve. The distribution area of Valve keeps on expanding, and according to Valve president, Gabe Newell, his company is looking forward to signing more and more games.
2K Games is a video game publishing subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive (yeah, the same company responsible for "gay-friendly"
Bully). It was created on January 25, 2005 as a result of Take-Two's takeover of Visual Concept and Kush Games. The transaction was worth US$ 24 million.
The 2K Games Company also operates 2K Sports, company that publishes the Visual Concept, Kush Games and Indie Built, sport titles. 2K Sports has the exclusive rights for producing World Poker Tour Games and Major League Baseball games.
The Civilization series registered a large amount of success all over the world. The first installment in the series was released back in 1991, as single-player turn-based strategy game. Its sequel, Civilization II, came after 5 years in 1996. Civilization III was released in 2001, and finally in 2005 the last installment, Civilization IV was launched.
