Valve has once again released a statement concerning its planned presentations at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2015 event in March, now confirming that the Steam Machines will be "front and center."

Valve made a lot of waves in the games industry back in late 2013, when it confirmed that it was spearheading an offensive for the living rooms of gamers from around the world. The studio pledges to work with hardware makers to roll out special PCs called Steam Machines, designed for the living room, equipped with the SteamOS Linux-based operating system, and controlled with a branded Steam gamepad.

Plenty of rumors and speculation appeared this week

The current week saw quite a few rumors and reports concerning Valve's plans for the beginning of the year, first with some speculation that the prestigious studio is going to make a big presentation at GDC 2015 in March concerning the SteamOS, Steam Machines, and the Steam controller.

Soon after that, Valve actually came forward in a rather surprising manner to say that it wouldn't be organizing a Steam Dev Days event at the beginning of the year. Instead, it will organize a larger than usual presence at GDC 2015 in March.

The following day saw Origin PC CEO come forward with more details about Valve's plans, confirming that Valve was bringing the final build of the Steam controller at GDC 2015, as well as other surprises.

Valve comes forward once again to shed some light

Now, Valve has come forward once more, this time to clarify what exactly it will showcase at the large event in spring.

According to a statement offered to GameInformer, the large presence at GDC is going to emphasize the Steam Machines.

"We're planning a very large presence at GDC with Steam Machines being front and center," the studio explains.

The statement is certainly interesting, as Origin PC boss also mentions that the Steam Machines name is more or less dead, as apparently, the devices will just be labeled as living room PCs in order to avoid confusion for customers.

You can expect more rumors until GDC 2015 begins on March 2 in San Francisco.
