Valve is announcing that its Steam digital distribution service now has 75 million active users, which is a very big jump when taking into account that the number stood at just 65 million in October, when the company last updated its public info.

Apparently, the biggest reasons for the increase are the sales that were introduced, both to celebrate the end of fall and the Christmas period, according to VG247.

The company is also offering a region by region breakdown of its sales, which shows that North America is still the most important market for digital distribution and accounted for 41 percent of game delivers in 2013.

Europe has managed to contribute another 40%, but the biggest overall growth was linked to Russia and Brazil, which will become major players in the coming years.

During the Steam Dev Days, the company also announced that it planned to deliver a major redesign to the Steam haptic controller.
