Video game developer Steam announces that it is now offering Subscription Plans via its digital distribution service Steam, giving players an easy to use way of paying for their favorite subscription-based titles.

The launch game for the new feature is Darkfall Unholy Wars and Valve says that more titles will soon be announced as taking advantage of Subscription Plans.

The team states as part of the official announcement that, "Steam customers may now sign-up for, manage, cancel or renew game Subscription Plans at any time, online directly through Steam."

The information that Valve is delivering also suggests that players will soon be able to offer these Subscription Plans as gifts and that more incentives might be added to make them attractive.

The new feature is part of the company's long-term plan to make Steam the core gaming service on the PC and beyond.
