A brand new Steam client update has just been released by developer Valve, bringing forth a huge number of solutions to different issues, glitches, crashes, and general errors encountered during regular use, or when using features like Big Picture, Broadcast, In-Home Streaming and more.

Steam is the most popular digital distribution service in the world, offering tens of millions of users the chance to buy games and other software easily across the PC, Mac OSX, or Linux platforms.

A brand new Steam client update brings many improvements

Valve has implemented quite a few interesting new features into the service and its client in recent months, and now it's just rolled out a fresh update for the general client, which tackles plenty of different issues, according to the official website.

First up, many different crashes, client hangs, freezes, and other such situations have been examined and rectified. Thus, users should no longer encounter such problems.

The user interface has also been tweaked slightly, as games will now list their DLC in the library details view. The built-in web browser now also has the option to delete the cookies used by it.

Those who use the Big Picture mode in Steam should also notice a faster interface that no longer takes long to reply when using both a controller and a mouse. Crashes when playing videos, watching broadcasts, or when using Big Picture on Linux have also been rectified.

Speaking of the Broadcast mode, it's also received a few improvements through the latest client patch, as Valve has added not only the option to record game audio but also video encoder tuning settings, which can force to prioritize video quality or the performance of the captured game.

Last but not least, the In-Home Streaming system, the Virtual Reality version of the client, as well as the Workshop have received their own enhancements.
