Now is the time to make your last purchases

The New Year's Eve is upon us and Valve has just ended some of the offers that are usually part of its Winter Sale. The Flash Deals and Community's Choice offers have been removed and instead the Featured Deals category has been populated with some of the most popular deals during the previous days.

So, beginning today and until January 2, 2015 Valve is running an Encore Sale with dozens of games mildly discounted. Now is also a good time to make your last purchases, so if you've been waiting for a particular game to go on sale as Flash Deal, Daily Deal or Community's Choice and it did not, you better get it now if it has a decent price.

Some of the best games launched this year are also among the Featured Deals included in the Encore Sale for the next 48 hours or so.

For example, Wasteland 2 is on sale now for half the price (€19.99), just like Endless Legend that can be purchased for €15.99. Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor has a lower discount (30%), but it's still a good deal at €29.99. Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes has a similar discount but a lower price (€13.39).

If anyone feels the urge to try Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Unity, the game is one of the Featured Deals listed by Valve, but the price is a bit high (€40.19).

Larian's Divinity: Original Sin is another must buy. The game has a 33% discount, so RPG fans can get it for €26.79. Alien Isolation and Space Engineers are on sale as well for half the price, so anyone saving money can get them for €24.99 and €9.49, respectively.

No more Flash Deals and Community's Choice for this winter sale

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Sid Meyer's Civilization: Beyond Earth don't have great discounts, but PC gamers can now get them for €44.99 and €34.99, respectively.

A huge selection of indie games are on sale with much larger discounts, but you might want to head over to Steam to check out the entire list.

As we mentioned earlier, there are no more Flash Deals until the sale ends and you can't vote for Community's Choice anymore. However, for the next 24 hours you can still get Ultimate General: Gettysburg for only €5.99, as winner of the previous Community's Choice voting.

Kentucky Route Zero and Hatoful Boyfriend received a smaller 40% discount, which still makes them good deals if you can afford to pay €13.79 and €4.79, respectively.
