The development team at Valve in charge of Steam announces that it is delivering an entirely new update for the client of the digital distribution service, set to fix a number of crashes and bugs.

Most of the changes made are based on the feedback coming from the vast community of users that work with Steam every day and the update is set to be applied the next time that the service is launched.

The biggest modifications made by Valve are, according to the official announcement:

- Fixed some games which crashed or failed to launch when installed to alternate Steam library folders - Fixed a bug that could cause Steam on Mac OS X to complain incorrectly about case-sensitive filesystems, blocking future updates - Fixed a bug that could, in very rare conditions, cause Steam to remove other unrelated files while uninstalling The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

All the changes that have been made in the February 19 update are also included.

Steam is the most popular digital distribution service on the PC and the team at Valve is constantly adding more features, like the recently deployed tags and in-home streaming, in order to make sure that competitors like Origin and uPlay do not draw away any users.
