The development team at Valve is announcing that it is releasing a new version of the Steam client, which is designed to improve overall performance and fix some issues that the team has identified with the digital distribution service.

A number of rare crashes have been eliminated, mostly linked to some Steam URLs and the Big Picture mode has also been updated to eliminate a crash that involved users that had a large number of emoticons active.

Other fixed problems are listed in the official announcement for the new version of the Steam client.

The team at Valve is constantly updating the service in order to make sure that it remains the most used digital distribution method on the PC and the company is also looking to add new functionality, with rumors suggesting that full game trading might be in the works.
