The development team at Valve is launching a new update for its Steam digital distribution client, designed to fix a number of problems with the program while also introducing new features for users to enjoy.

Proxies are now better detected and a number of user interface glitches are eliminated while players can also benefit from better detection of system language.

A new Community home page has also been added to Steam in order to highlight the best content for all titles on the platform and more changes are explained in the official update.

The Valve team also states, "If you use McAfee anti-virus products, you may experience an issue where Steam continually tries to download and apply this update. If so, please temporarily disable your virus scanner and restart Steam to complete the update. We are working to find a better solution for this incompatibility in future updates."
