Valve has released yet another Beta update for its Steam client, getting some more improvements for the In-Home Streaming Beta.

The In-Home Streaming Beta is a new feature introduced by Valve that allows Linux users to stream games from a Steam Windows client in the same network.

According to the changelog, the OpenGL capture speed has been improved, the streaming games that use R10G10B10A2 backbuffer format have been fixed, streaming The Witcher 2 now works correctly, and streaming Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet is now working as it should.

Getting games to stream properly from Windows to Linux seems to be the main focus of the Valve developers and many of the patches deal strictly with this feature. It's unlikely that In-Home Streaming will exist the Beta stages too soon, but the developers might surprise us with the next stable release.

More details about this latest release and the bugs that have been fixed can be found in the official announcement. Download the Steam for Linux installer from Softpedia.

Keep in mind that this is a Beta version and you might experience some problems with it. In order to get it, you have to enroll in the Beta program, from Preferences.
