Steal Princess is a puzzle platformer game created by a partnership between Climax and Marvelous and that was published in North America by Atlus. The game was already released in Japan on July 28, 2008, and reached North American shores on May 19, 2009. It is scheduled to appear this September in all other territories, including Europe and other PAL regions.
The game tells the story of Anise, a master thief, who has triggered a trap in the palace of the Ancient Demon King. She manages to escape, just barely, but is knocked unconscious at the end. Luckily for her, a fairy named Kukri saves her and takes her to a castle called Albyon. It is here that Anise finds out that she is the descendant of a legendary hero of Albyon and that she must save the prince of the kingdom from the clutches of the Demon King.
Here are some of the most important features of this game:
- 3-D puzzle platformer – Dive into a playing field of simple design, but deceptively complex challenge, that combines action elements with puzzle-solving skills on a 3-D, isometric plane. Jump, swing, climb, and attack as you search for the key to complete each level.
- Over 150 levels to beat – Levels spanning different geographies and requiring different strategies deliver on the promise of true breadth. Play them again to beat your best times, earn higher rankings, earn better endings, and collect more gems to unlock items.
- Create and trade custom levels – A robust custom map maker lets you construct levels with any enemies, items, and victory conditions you want. Trade maps with other players over the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and local wireless for a never-ending challenge!Overall, Steal Princess received mixed reviews, but managed to have a pretty good impact on many reviewers thanks to its story, even though some puzzles can be quite hard to decipher for casual gamers.
