Powerful news aggregator

Spb Software raises the stakes again with another Windows Mobile-compatible application that offers a complete news reading experience – Spb News. The powerful mobile aggregator features an easy interface and has full RSS/Atom support. The application works with a wide range of feed formats: RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0 and Atom, but also delivers offline reading with pictures. This enables users to read full articles comprising pictures in offline mode.

Spb News has a huge list of channels (around 2000) that are sorted as an Online catalog. More channels can be added to those that are already available online, by simply selecting a channel source and then following the application's instructions. Other ways of introducing a new channel are: by entering the full URL of a feed or by using the Search function. The first thing you will need to set up before having access to the News channels is the Internet connection (Desktop, Wi-Fi). Spb News updates the articles as soon as an Internet connection is available. This can be easily done automatically at a certain time interval, or manually whenever the user needs to. The application can be set to clean some articles, which are older than a certain time limit.

Spb News can also be quickly accessed from the Today Plug-in and certain channels can be set to show on the Homescreen. Other options are View Style; Show single article or a list of the selected channel headlines; Show article thumbnails if the article includes any pictures; Show the channel name; Adjusting the auto scrolling speed, select Slow, Normal or Fast; How many text lines to show from the article on the Today screen.
The full version of Spb News can be bought for 19.95 USD, while a 15-day fully featured trial is also available.
