A hacker called Phsy managed to breach the official website of the State of Vermont (vermont.gov) as a form of protest against the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), leaking mailing lists, server logins and other information.

“These Bills Harm our Once Uncensored Internet. Could Shutdown sites like @twitter, Reddit Censor Search Engines & more. Everyone Deserves free-speech, an Open Web And free will to Expression! Lol. Dear U.S Government You Hear The peoples voices? your Citizens?!” wrote the hacker in a statement on Pastebin.

Microsoft, McAfee, Siemens, Symantec, Adobe and, of course, RIAA are all on the hacker’s list for being “unmoral, unthoughtful and corrupt.”

It seems that now, more than ever, hacktivists are launching operations against SOPA and all those who support it. A few hours ago we saw the latest video announcement coming from Anonymous in which they threatened GoDaddy, encouraging all their customers to change hosts.
