Undead Labs, the developer of State of Decay, has confirmed a few more details about the characters players will be able to control and interact with in the upcoming Lifeline expansion.

State of Decay came out last year for PC and Xbox 360 and delivered a great experience that brought together a big open world, a good zombie killing system, and a complex base development mechanic.

Undead Labs enriched the whole experience with different DLC packs, like the Breakdown one, and is currently working on the second big expansion, Lifeline.

The studio has already revealed some interesting details about the new add-on, which brings forth a brand new open world, a new set of protagonists in form of the soldiers from Greyhound One, as well as a few new mechanics.

Now, in a new blog post, the studio has offered more details about the actual characters from the new expansion for State of Decay.

The first and most important protagonist is Major Alicia Hawkes, the leader of the Greyhound One unit, a seasoned veteran of the Afghanistan war and an individual who earned the trust and loyalty of her fellow soldiers.

Next up is Sergeant Kilohana "Kilo" Young, a soldier with a Hawaiian mother and a Korean father who places a big emphasis on family, especially his wife and three daughters. He's also an Afghanistan veteran and has served alongside Hawkes while deploying, establishing a great connection.

There's also Private Royell "Vince" Vincent, a loud mouth high school dropout who speaks what's on his mind but is a fearless warrior who does what needs to be done.

Last but not least for Greyhound One, there's Sergeant Kelly "Sasquatch" Eldridge, a special operative who went on all sorts of missions behind enemy lines. His experience meant that the Army used him already on several missions against the zombie horde and he doesn't exactly appreciate being stuck with the rookie unit.

Besides these core characters, the Lifeline expansion also introduces a variety of lost soldiers who've been abandoned by their superiors, as well as Colonel Peel, the current commanding officer who interacts with Greyhound One from the main headquarters.

Civilians are also present, such as Vienna Cho, a radio host who despises the Army for abandoning regular people when they started their tactical retreat in front of the zombie horde. But, if players start saving civilians and improving the life of the people in Danforth, then Vienna will be more sympathetic.

As of yet, there's no word about when the Lifeline expansion will launch for State of Decay.
