StartIsBack (reviewed here) has been updated to version 1.3.1, which integrates repairs designed to improve overall functionality of the application.

Some of the fixes touch on the program’s ability to highlight new entries in the list of newly installed items. Another flaw repaired in this revision regards updating the hot corners when moving modern UI apps between monitors.

Additional entries available in his build’s changelog announce that startup items are no longer launched with a 10-second delay and that shortcuts for games are now created in Games start menu subfolder. On the same note, Windows 7 start menu pinned items are migrated on first install.

StartIsBack uses Microsoft’s code for the Start Menu available in Windows 7, thus offering the exact same features as the original launcher. You can download it from this link.
