The latest development from Totalidea, the company also responsible for 8StartButton, is StartBar8. The new application has been designed as a transitional solution between the two desktops available in Windows 8 and 8.1.

It basically makes available a side bar on the left side of the screen where you can reach important sections of the system; most of them used to be available in the Windows 7 start menu.

Moreover, it provides access to power options such as shutdown and sleep as well as restart and lock; but the most important part is that it makes available entries from the start menu, recently used programs, as well as Windows Explorer, network area, and Control Panel.

StartBar8 is available for $28.66 / €19, which grants activation on three PCs and one year of support and updates. You can also test it free of charge for a total of 14 days.
