The latest revision for Stardock’s application launcher for Windows 8 has entered a new beta stage of development, adding new features that extend its functionality, as well as repairs to increase usability.

Freshly added to Start8 (reviewed here) 1.09 beta is the possibility to view items in the folders pinned to the Start Menu as a jumplist. On the same note, the application now includes the possibility to add custom locations and improves the "Go straight to desktop" feature on login.

Further improvements touch on the search function, which now supports %appdata% and should run on slightly less RAM.

The developer solved the problem with the “Recent Items” list displaying folders and deleting an entry from the “All Programs” section is now executed immediately instead of waiting for a refresh. You can check the entire list of modifications here.
