Start8 1.0.1 Available for Download

Stardock has recently updated its Start8 application that pins a start button complete with Start menu to the latest release of Windows.

Although Start8 (reviewed here) appears as a simple application for most of the users, revision 1.0.1 brings to the table plenty of new things along with some repairs.

New in this release is the possibility to switch to the desktop mode when pressing the Windows key, versus the Start8 menu or Windows 8 menu, when the user is in a modern UI app. On the same note, you can also hit the Windows key when on the classic desktop, in order to return to the last used modern UI app (if any).

In the current version of the application, the height of the Start menu is automatically adjusted when shortcuts are added to the right hand side list.
