Start Menu X remains one of the most popular third-party Start Menu apps available on both Windows 8 and 8.1, so updates are fairly important for quite a lot of users.

A new version was officially released today, bringing a couple of improvements and updates for some of the bugs reported in previous builds.

Start Menu X 5.1 allows users to change the order of the displayed items, according to the official release notes, and you can do that in basically all menu sections, including Virtual Groups, Computer, or Control Panel.

Support is still being offered for Microsoft’s new modern platforms, so you can download Start Menu X 5.1 even if you’re running Windows 8 or in case you’ve already made the move to the newly-launched Windows 8.1 OS update.
